In November 2018, ADLER Solar installed a 59.85 kWp solar power system for the East Frisian farmer Henning Ommen on a stable roof with modules from Hanwha Q-Cells for his own energy needs. In total, the agricultural hybrid farm requires an average of 45,000 kW per year – the new PV system now covers 80% of this value via in-house production. On the one hand, this means major cost savings; on the other hand, the farmer is largely independent of electricity suppliers. ADLER Solar’s consulting concept also takes into account the fact that 60% of electricity consumption is incurred at night – an appropriate storage system ensures that the PV electricity generated can be used with a time delay.

For PKV Energie GmbH & Co. KG, ADLER Solar KG installed a rooftop PV system with a total output of approx. 1 MWp on the roof of the sister company Papier- und Kartonfabrik Varel GmbH & Co. in the summer of 2017. As part of the repowering project, 8,322 thin-film modules with a total output of 998 kWp were replaced by 3,557 Q CELLS Q.PLUS BFR-G4.1 280 modules with a total output of 995 kWp – these have twice the efficiency of the old modules. Special challenges of the roof-parallel installation:
– Due to the size of the building, dismantling and reassembly was carried out with the aid of a construction crane
– To avoid new roof penetrations, a mounting solution was developed which directly docks onto the existing mounting system
Additional services included the individual verification of reduced output at module level in coordination with the responsible distribution grid operator. For this purpose, all of the 8,322 modules were subjected to a performance measurement at the ADLER Solar Service Centre and proof of the technical defect was documented towards the distribution grid operator. Through this process, which we accompanied, the PV system operator was able to secure the value of his original feed-in tariff.

From 2012 to 2018, ADLER Solar was the exclusive service partner for warranty claim and recycling processing in EMEA for the US module manufacturer First Solar. The range of services covered all aspects of warranty processing, from logistics to handling the recycling. A special dialogue centre with multilingual employees including a dedicated service number and e-mail address was set up for this purpose. The fulfilment was carried out according to defined process specifications and with the help of First Solar equipment in the ADLER Solar Service Centre.
Due to changed business strategies, First Solar decided to handle warranty processing independently and in-house from April 2018.

Since July 2018, ADLER Solar has acted as a service partner for SOLARWATT battery storage systems in the North German region regarding:
1. Support and instruction of installers during the initial installation and commissioning of SOLARWATT storage systems for new customers on site
2. Service calls for SOLARWATT at end customers for repair / fault clearance of battery systems
The ADLER Solar service technicians are experienced PV experts – trained electricians or master electricians – while SOLARWATT provides the necessary hardware and software.

ADLER Solar was commissioned by the Bührmann Group of Bremen with the planning and installation of a PV roof system in the summer of 2018: a 690.48 kWp PV system was erected on the flat roof of a commercial building of the group. For this purpose, the ADLER Solar Team installed PV modules from Hanwha Q CELLS plus inverters from Huawei.
The existing hall statics and limited load-bearing capacity of the roof required special planning in advance. For this reason, mounting systems with low dead weight and high-performance modules with an efficiency of almost 19% were installed.
The newly installed PV system will generate approx. 587,000 kWh of electricity per year, which will be fed into the public grid. The expected annual feed-in tariff, fixed for 20 years, is correspondingly high. The best example that PV systems – especially for enterprises with large (roof) areas – are economically attractive: as even without utilizing the electricity generated themselves, they achieve a high return on investment in the long term.

ADLER Solar has proven beyond the shadow of a doubt to be the best partner for the planning, realisation and technical management of a PV park. ADLER Solar has optimised the performance of our PV roof system in the winter of 2016/2017: within the scope of the performance analysis, defects were detected on 1,200 thin-film modules, which were professionally replaced with new ones by the PV experts from ADLER Solar. The renovation measures also included the installation of new inverters. Overall, we are very satisfied with the well-structured project handling and speedy workflow from start to finish. And the best: the performance of the plant could be increased – and thus also our ROI!
ADLER Solar carried out a performance analysis on our behalf to determine the delta between the actual output versus original rating for our PV plant. As a customer, we benefited primarily from the long-standing expertise of ADLER Solar as a full service provider, and secondly from the efficient process management from one single source. The competent and timely execution of the repowering project resulted in a signiﬁcant optimisation of performance and thus an increase in our ROI.
