dena RES Project Japan “PV Training Center Yokohama“

The Project

Setting up their joint venture ADLER Solar Works in July 2015, ADLER Solar (leading PV service provider in Germany) and Yokohama Kankyo Design (YKD, PV general contractor/ EPC, Japan) established the first company for PV services in Japan.
To transfer the broad experience and expertise of PV services “Made in Germany” to the Japanese market, a PV Training Center (ASW Competence Center) was opened in Yokohama on May 30th, 2016.

In this way, ADLER Solar Works and its partners intend to contribute in an essential way to a permanently high performance, quality and longevity of PV installations in Japan!

The PV Training Center is being realized within the dena RES Project Japan, which is part of the worldwide dena Renewable Energy Solutions Programme coordinated by Deutsche Energie Agentur (dena) – the German Energy Agency – and co-financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) within the German Energy Solutions Initiative.

The Idea

The Center aims at specifically qualifying employees, partners, clients and further interested parties. Together with a theoretical knowledge transfer, we focus on a qualification relevant to actual working conditions in the Yokohama office and at the PV installation especially built for this purpose. This way, ADLER Solar Works wants to ensure a high quality and sustainability of the measures.
The PV installation includes various module technologies as well as special features like a scientific weather station and an advanced monitoring system.
Connecting theoretical know-how with a practical training, ADLER Solar Works intends to improve the qualification and competences of their (new) employees. At the same time, the full-service provider for the PV industry is able to ensure the high quality of their partner companies. The clients of ADLER Solar Works profit from gaining a valuable insight into the work practices and getting to know the various possibilities and advantages that open up for them.
A team of highly qualified trainers with a broad practical experience and neatly structured training documents ensure a successful training.

Project Goals

  • Training of clients, partners and (new) employees ensuring an ideal service quality and systematizing the knowledge transfer between Germany and Japan
  • Increasing the awareness of ADLER Solar Works as a service expert on the Japanese PV market
  • Planning, constructing and operating a PV reference plant in Japan for a practical training under real-world conditions
  • Research and Development and further expanding the PV services in Japan
