Solar Power Europe (SPE), the European PV industrial association representing the interests of the European solar industry, is presenting the first version of its “Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Best Practices Guidelines” at the Intersolar Europe 2016. These guidelines are the result of an O&M task force in which representatives of Europe’s leading solar companies collaborated.
Heinz Hackmann, former head of the engineering department and CFO at ADLER Solar since last spring, brought his professional knowledge to bear in the task force.
The task force spent a whole year on the responsibilities of an O&M service provider and defined classifications, requirements and KPIs for performance assessment.
With their practical recommendations – based on the concentrated expertise of Europe’s major PV experts gleaned from many years of experience – the task force developed a quality standard for professional O&M services and a reference work for ensuring high plant performance beyond the borders of Europe. Starting now, the new guidelines will be regularly updated.
„We are delighted to have contributed hands-on input to the new „O&M Best Practices Guidelines“ from SPE. Not only do we empower the PV-industry to follow a newly defined standard regarding technical plant management, but also enable market players like banks, insurance companies or plant operators to refer to practical guidelines for contractual designs and more“, Heinz Hackmann sums up the result of the experts‘ work.
Since 2015, ADLER Solar have been a member of this European association that represents the entire value added chain of photovoltaics. The guidelines are available as a free download from the SPE website.
ADLER Solar Sums up Successful Exhibition: ADLER Solar presented itself together with Europe Solar Concept, Solar Fabrik and pvXchange at this year’s Intersolar
Combined in an integrated booth concept, ADLER Solar together with Europe Solar Concept, Solar Fabrik and pvXchange introduced their complementary product and service portfolios.
ADLER Solar develops customised solutions “Made in Germany” at its Services and Solutions competence centre for its customers.
The following key topics were presented at the trade fair:
- Performance optimisation
PV plants lose out in efficiency over time – either by modules degrading or decline in performance in the components used. The knowledge gained from many years of experience enables ADLER Solar to develop solutions to halt this performance decline and return your plants to the original rating
- Claim management
More than 1.5 million photovoltaic plants have been installed in Germany in the past ten years. During that time, the components have kept on developing and are exposed to various meteorological effects in all seasons. Quick, professional damage repair minimises yield losses and restores the security of your photovoltaic plant
Perfectly working inverters form the basis for high solar gains and security of supply. If there is component damage or damage due to external impact, such as a fire or a power surge after a lightning strike, inverters can be professionally checked and repaired at the ADLER Solar Test and Repair Centre, which is especially equipped for this purpose
- Battery storage
“Intersolar Europe unfailingly provides impetus for the solar industry. Our joint booth was received very well by visitors and we could fortify existing customer relations as well as foster new ones over the course of our many meetings. On top, we’ve participated in a number of networking events and held our very own expert symposium for insurance companies as a kick-off. After years of market consolidation, there is a noticeable upwards trend nowadays with established players and innovative product developments in 2016”, concludes Gerhard Cunze, Executive Partner at ADLER Solar.
Martin Kalies is the new head of engineering at ADLER Solar
Martin Kalies has taken over the position of head of engineering from Heinz Hackmann, who has now been appointed CFO of ADLER Solar. Thus Kalies is responsible for the technical and organisational management of the engineering department in Bremen and Anzing and is also responsible for the commercial management of all processes and orders, as well as for resource scheduling.
Until now, Martin Kalies’ career has always been involved with the expansion of renewable energy sources: he undertook assessments of technology, potential analyses and feasibility studies for various research facilities; one module manufacturer entrusted him with technical customer service and after-sales management, and in the end the very same company even promoted him to the position of product engineering manager.
„My motivation is the switch of our energy supply from finite, fossil energies to renewable resources. Photovoltaics play an important role in this scenario, also in Germany. Based on the experience of the first years of PV-expansion, we’ve reached a high level of technical competence, quality and professional execution – to help shaping the future progress of this endeavor is my personal aspiration“, said Martin Kalies.
We Offer Solutions for Battery Storage Systems
Battery storages, together with PV plants, are one of the most important building blocks on the path to a 100% renewable energy sector.
The combination with battery storages will:
- Let photovoltaic plants supply renewable energy around the clock
- Minimise peak loads in the power grid
- Reduce the cost of network expansion
All this maximises supply reliability.
ADLER Solar is the leading full-service provider for the solar industry and offers services customised for battery storage systems to ensure their functioning and cost
effectiveness in the long term.
Our competence includes maintenance and commissioning according to legal requirements and applicable standards, as well as quality assurance measures for manufacturers of battery storage solutions.
Our customers include commercial operators of PV plants with battery storage systems, in addition to leading battery storage manufacturers. We have already checked, optimised or repaired a total of more than 1,000 storages from various manufacturers for our customers. Benefit from our long-term expertise – both in PV plants and in battery storage systems.
We look forward to hearing from you!
