Based on measurement readings of its in-house database of over 40.000 PV modules built between 2008 to 2015, ADLER Solar has now interpreted the data which offers interesting findings in re the quality of PV modules. The performance of 41,689 PV modules was tested under the unified „Standard Test Conditions“ (STC). On the one hand, values of crystalline silicon modules were evaluated, on the other hand those of various thin film technologies.
The original ratings of tested modules ranged from 39 Wp to 340 Wp. CTO Sönke Jäger, responsible for the evaluation, recorded the respective deviation from quoted original ratings and – as far as possible – its cause. At the same time, the influence of micro fissures on overall module performance was researched and analysed by our experts as well.
If you are interested, we would be happy to provide further information and detailed results of the evaluation.

Field test regarding degradation behaviour of cracked PV module cells
What are the consequences of cracks regarding a continued stable performance of photovoltaic modules?
To answer this question, ADLER Solar Services GmbH, the Allianz Risk Consulting GmbH (Allianz Zentrum für Technik (AZT)), the Bayerische Zentrum für Angewandte Energieforschung (ZAE Bayern) and ECOlution Engineers UG joined forces in a long-term test two years ago. The most important findings of the „Long-term case study regarding degradation behaviour of cracked PV modules“ were now published and explained by the authors in the November issue of pv magazine (in German).
In place of Christmas Cards
According to the motto “same procedure as last year”, we will support the Deutschlandstipendium of the KELLNER-STOLL Foundation for Climate and Environment in Bremen again this year. This is in lieu of cards and calendars. With this engagement we underscore our company’s credo of sustainability and social responsibility for the world we live in once more.
This scholarship comprises a 300 Euro grant each month for at least a year for students majoring in biology or environmental sciences. The financial means are provided by private respectively institutional sponsors as well as corporations (50%) and then matched by the Ministry for Education and Research (50%).
In this spirit, we wish you peaceful holidays and a sunny 2018!
We look forward to hearing from you!
Our Sales Director, Claas Oltmann, and his team are waiting to answer your inquiries.
