In view of the product warning issued by Solar-Fabrik AG* last April, ADLER Solar, in cooperation with Europe Solar Concept, is now offering operators of installations with the modules in question an optimized solution. Instead of replacing the complete socket, the optimized approach from ADLER and Europe Solar Concept is to replace only the cover, which ideally can be done without dismantling the module. This can cut costs.

The socket covers from KOSTAL Industrie Elektrik GmbH, which were developed in accordance with the highest quality standards, are substituted for the faulty covers right on site by experts from ADLER Solar and Europe Solar Concept. The advantage to this is that it saves the cost and expense of packing and transporting the modules to a repair center. Nor is there any risk of possible transport damages with the on-site solution. Thanks to the quickly achievable on-site solution, installation operators can also avoid losses of earnings. Time and expense can also be saved on flat roof installations, where as a rule the cover can be replaced without any need to set up scaffolding. Gerhard Cunze, Managing Partner of ADLER Solar, points to the value added for the customer, saying, “We are glad to be able to offer an optimized solution in the interest of our customers. With this solution, we would like to get the cause of the problem under control and thus provide long-term safety and optimum installation performance.”

This service offer is aimed at all installation operators and installers who are affected. The ADLER Solar service teams are in the field nationwide. Repair dates can be agreed at short notice by calling the service hotline at +49 421-835 701 00

* PRODUCT WARNING, Solar-Fabrik AG, April 2015:
Within the scope of an ongoing assessment of its photovoltaic modules, Solar-Fabrik AG discovered a possible source of errors in sockets manufactured in 2011 and 2012. According to statements by Solar-Fabrik AG, these are products bearing the designation Premium L, M, XM, and S. Intensive inspections showed that the socket can fail on some modules whose item number end in “03” (“10xx-xxxx-xx03”), causing exceptional heating under certain circumstances and possibly even causing surrounding parts to catch fire.
